Pasta Di Piazza
Nestled in the heart of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Pasta Di Piazza is one of those places that instantly feels like home-if your home just so happens to serve freshly made Italian classics and a glass of full-bodied red with a view of a cozy, bustling high street. Located at 125 High St, Newcastle-under-Lyme, this inviting restaurant combines authentic Italian charm with an impressive selection of both traditional and creative dishes.
From the moment you walk in, there’s a rustic warmth that’s hard to fake. The scent of baked garlic, slow-simmered tomato sauce, and fresh herbs greets you even before you're seated. It's no wonder this spot is popular for lunch and dinner, and especially beloved among solo diners looking for a quiet moment with a plate of pasta and a good glass of wine.
One of the standouts here has to be the Lasagna-layered generously with rich Bolognese, creamy béchamel, and topped with bubbling cheese that stretches like it’s straight out of a food commercial. If you’re craving something a little more playful, the Calzone Classico hits the mark with its golden crust and steamy filling of mozzarella, mushrooms, and spicy salami.
For seafood lovers, there’s plenty to celebrate. The Calamari Fritti is lightly battered and comes with a zesty lemon wedge and creamy dip, while the Swordfish Steak with Vegetables arrives grilled to perfection, served with colorful seasonal veggies that still have a bit of crunch. A lighter option like the Caprese Salad or Tuna Steak with Vegetables showcases the restaurant’s ability to balance richness with freshness-ideal if you’re after healthy dishes that don’t skimp on flavor.
Vegetarians aren’t left out either. The Vegetarian Pizza is stone-baked with a crisp base and loaded with grilled peppers, mushrooms, and olives. For smaller bites or something to share, Garlic Bread, Dough Balls, and Marinated Olives are table favorites, especially when paired with a side of their Tomato Soup or a Tortellini dish in creamy sauce.
Drinks are no afterthought at Pasta Di Piazza. The wine list is well-curated, perfect for pairing with any course, and if you’re not in the mood for wine, they offer beer, cocktails, and standout coffee options too. Their Cappuccino is frothy and rich-great after a meal or alongside dessert. Speaking of desserts, the Tiramisu and Torta Selva Nera (Black Forest Cake) are the kind that makes you pause between bites just to savor the moment.
Accessibility is thoughtful, with wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating, making it an inclusive space for all diners. Whether you’re dining in for a full Italian spread or just swinging by for no-contact delivery or takeaway, service remains consistently attentive and welcoming.
With its wide-ranging menu that caters to vegans, vegetarians, and meat-lovers alike, Pasta Di Piazza sets itself apart in a town full of dining choices. The ambiance is relaxed but refined, ideal for everything from casual dinners to date nights. The food is comforting without being cliché, the service warm without being intrusive, and the setting timelessly charming.
Whether you’re chasing the rich flavor of a well-baked calzone, in the mood for a breezy salad with a glass of red, or simply need a solid cappuccino with a side of something sweet, Pasta Di Piazza manages to deliver, again and again.

I recently went for a very enjoyable evening with friends, we shared a couple of starters which were very nice and then had mains and dessert too. I asked the server if they’d be happy to cook my food a little longer (nothing to do with them, a personal choice matter) and they were happy to do that for me.The food was so tasty that I forgot to get any photos of the starter and main!
It was my first time going here, it's a beautiful restaurant, the decor is tasteful and pleasant music. We were greeted by straight away by friendly staff and seated there and then. Service was spot on. We both ordered a starter and main from their plentiful but not overwhelming menu. I already know what I'd order on my next visit! Really nice experience. We were given a hour slot which is more than enough time as the food was served in good time.
Really lovely restaurant that is very well organised. Interior layout is comfortable, modern and well laid out. Sufficient flexibility to accommodate larger groups or more intimate settings as well. Service was great and not over officious. Lots of menu choices to suit all and not just pizza. Very keen pricing and enjoyed the visit. Very clean throughout
